Lots of people are travelling this week for the holiday. If you are visiting friends or family – make sure you bring a little hostess gift to show your appreciation.
I stopped by to the C Wonder boutique in Soho yesterday and loved just about everything in there. They have bright bold home accessories (and clothing, bags, shoes etc) at a very good price point. I think these monogrammed decorative plates make a great hostess gift!
I also love their selection of stationery, which comes wrapped in a pretty bow with a little charm.
A pen and paper set makes a good gift because it really isn’t something you would think to buy for youself… I really do love just about anything from Iomoi.
Jonathan Adler is another great place to start. I am lucky enough to have easy access to his boutique, but they have a great selection online… these coasters are one of my favorites – they are even cuter in person!
The easiest and most fail proof gift is anything edible. My favorite is this gourmet chocolate covered popcorn by funky chunky – it is delish and comes in a pretty glass jar that is perfect for giving.
What is the best hostess gift you have ever received? What is your favorite gift to give?
I absolutely love these decorative poufs from Target. A pair of these would work perfectly placed underneath a console. They could also be used for extra seating or a chic, yet inexpensive drink table!
Whether its a thank you note, an invitation or simply a “thinking of you” card, I love receiving letters in the mail. Here are some of my favoite stationery selections at the moment…
When was the last time you sat down to write a letter? Do you still enjoy receiving hand-written mail?

This month, marks the last month of my second trimester and as a first time mom-to-be, I am continually amazed by how quickly my body is transforming to accommodate this little guy I’m carrying around with me. Now that I am very visably pregnant, I am majorly struggling with what to wear.
This week, the fashion gods must be smiling down at me…just when I began to feel completely hopeless in my search for stylish maternity clothing inspiration, I opened the April issue of Vogue to find this: Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl: Sylvana Ward Durrett. Sylvana is Vogue’s Director of Special Events who is busy planning the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala while nine months pregnant.
I fell in love with the first image I saw… I absolutely adore this white chiffon Alexander Wang dress. Sylvana purchased it a couple sizes up and uses a belt to cinch it above her belly. As with most of her perfectly styled outfits, she is sporting a long, oversized blazer to top it off.
I love her accessories… this striped Dries Van Notren clutch is gorgeous and I love her Giusseppe Zanotti sandals.
This will be my Spring-time maternity staple. I am officially on a mission for the perfect pair of white maternity jeans that I can pair with a simple tee shirt and (long) navy blazer.
Pregnant or not, this striped dress by Minnie Mortimer is already a wardrobe staple of mine! I love the way Sylvana paired it with this bright blue oversized Maje blazer.
This look is so simple and effortless, yet looks totally put together. A long yellow blazer by Preen over a zara cardigan and flared jeans.
This one is easily attainable… Sylvana is wearing an extra large All Saints skirt which is sitting low on her hips with a black maternity shirt by velvet and a military jacket from Urban Outfitters.
Do you lovely ladies have any other maternity wear recommendations?
